The Future

New Building 3D render of new home kindly donated by Habitat5.

Our current Children's Home is at capacity meaning we cannot take in any more children. In 2008 we were donated a sum of money which allowed us to purchase 3,000m2 of land close to the existing rented home. Here we have plans to build a new larger children's home along with training facilities, farmland and a community centre.

For more details on the progress of this project and the costs involved have a look at the New Building page under Projects

New Children's Home
This home will provide purpose built accommodation for the 21 children currently in our care. It will also provide approximately 40 additional beds, allowing us to restart our Street Kids Project and open the doors of our home once again to those in need.

Farming
The farming we already do will be expanded to incorporate an Aquaponics system. We have already received funds for this and a trial is being carried out on the current site.

The chicken farm will also be expanded, with the aim of supplying an egg every day for each child in our care. After initial set up costs this has the potential of saving us up to US $2,000/year.

It is our hope that these systems will provide enough fish, chicken and eggs to feed the orphanage, and that a minimal amount fruit and vegetables would need to be purchased. All of our rice, cooking oil and gas is already supplied by a local resort.

Educational Workshops
The new training facility and community centre will allow us to expand our current Educational Workshop Programme for our children, and also offer training to the local community. We are looking to approach local government for help in the running costs for this.

We would also like to be able to offer training in micro finance initiatives which we could use ourselves to raise further funding for the foundation, and also be used to train and benefit the local community.
